Beach Hearts
A true Pacific Northwest native, Kathryn Farron has always walked the beach. She was taught to comb for agates, jasper, arrowheads, driftwood, shells, and sea glass as a child. Kathryn’s heart mosaics reflect a lifetime at the edge of the sea, a collection of its many treasures. Each unique heart is named and numbered.

Jane Buck is an artist who works with natural materials found on the beaches of San Juan County. She arranges stones, sea glass, and driftwood into assemblages, which she then photographs on site. Her cards and prints are as endemic to the San Juans as eagles and Orcas.

Images of the San Juan Islands
Mark Gardner’s photo book is a trip to the beautiful San Juan Islands contained between two covers. An artist who paints with natural light, Mark invests hours awaiting the magic moment. His best works hide the tremendous effort with an overlay of informal inevitability, as if there is no other way to photograph the islands and their animals.
